During the mid-seventies, the Hamburg-based band NOVALIS established themselves as leaders in the field of German-language romantic rock. The quartet called itself NOVALIS after the most important German poet of early romanticism. They created a rock music of poetic, lyrical with german lyrics and instrumental beauty. Their music, a heavy organ rock, was compared to the sounds of bands such KING CRIMSON and PINK FLOYD. They released a few albums of lush, keyboard-dominant prog rock during the seventies. The keyboards created majestic layers on which the guitar builds airy melodies.
Durante meados dos anos setenta, o NOVALIS bandacom sede em Hamburgo estabeleceu-se como líder dorock romântico alemão. O quarteto se chamava NOVALIS em homenagem ao poeta mais importante do romantismo alemão . Eles criaram uma música rock poética, lírica, com letras em alemão e beleza instrumental. Sua música, um rock pesado baseado em órgão, foi comparado ao som de bandas como King Crimson e Pink Floyd. Eles lançaram alguns álbuns de rock progressivo ,com um teclado exuberante, durante os anos setenta. Os teclados criavam camadas majestosas sobre as quais a guitarra construia melodias etéreas.
